For only PHP200 (US$4), mango lovers can gorge on some of the sweetest in the world in an eat-all-you-can affair featuring Guimaras mangoes this Independence Day weekend.

Social enterprise Rural Rising, an initiative that helps local farmers around the country sell off their surplus produce, is hosting a mango-all-you-can event at Ayala Malls Market! Market! where participants can feast on what is dubbed as “the world’s sweetest mango,” or donate the fee and have mangoes distributed to a mall worker, a security guard, or a delivery rider.

Mango eaters must finish all the mangoes on the spot and are not allowed to take them home.

Guimaras, also known as the Philippines’ mango capital, is largely responsible for the country’s export of mangoes, the nation’s third most-exported fruit. The proceeds of the event will go towards Guimaras’ mango farmers.
