From Canada with love: Tim Hortons is coming to the Philippines!

Here’s a new place for HOHOL, Double-Doubles and Timbits — all the way from Canada.

According to a report from the Toronto Star, Canadian staple Tim Hortons will be making its way to the Philippines, but Restaurant Brands International (RBI, who also owns Burger King since 2014) did not say the number and specific location of stores or when they plan to open.

In an email, RBI told The Star, “We have conducted many months of consumer research and believe our signature coffee and baked goods will be a welcome addition to the product offerings available in this market.”

“It’s not surprising that they want to go there… The Philippines has a pretty vibrant food service industry and people there are predisposed to coffee and baked goods,” said Geoff Wilson, principal at fsStrategy Inc., a food services consulting firm from Toronto.

They’re right. We’re suckers for great coffee and yummy donuts (because who isn’t?). So watch out for Pareng Tim!
