We love Ilocos empanada, and we’re hoping that it will also win the hearts of Singaporeans with the help of British-Italian chef Steven Snowdon.
Steven is set to represent Laoag in the Singaporean cooking competition Eat List Star, a show where non-Asians are asked to cook their favorite Asian street food.
He chose to showcase the Ilocos empanada because of its rich flavor.
According to Toggle, “Steven uses traditional French and British techniques as a foundation to reinvent Asian and European favourites.”
From hundreds of applicants, Snowdon was included in the top 20 who will advance in the competition.
He will now join an intense five-day boot camp in Singapore, complete with tough kitchen challenges.
The top 3 will have a chance to develop their cooking careers and possibly secure media and business development contracts.
