Likely to join the list of best cookies in Manila is Ben’s Cookies: A British chain that’s set to open a shop in Mandaluyong City’s The Podium mall on July 16, Tuesday.
The Podium announced this on their Facebook page earlier today.
Good cookies are hard to come by in this city, especially when there are so many mediocre pre-packaged ones out there, but Ben’s Cookies is known for baking theirs inside their shops. This allows customers to enjoy the cookies warm and (practically) fresh off the oven.
Their biggest selling point is the use of chocolate chunks over chips, which results in a gooey cookie that looks almost molten in the center. The most popular flavor is the classic milk chocolate chunk but the store also has more out of the ordinary variants like ginger & dark chocolate, orange & milk chocolate, and coconut.
Ben’s Cookies started as a stall in Oxford’s Covered Market in 1983 but now has 16 stores in the United Kingdom. It also has branches all over the world including in the United States, multiple locations in the Middle East, and in Coconuts cities Singapore and Thailand, among other Asian countries.
