It seems like the cupcake trend is not dying anytime soon, with more and more people getting into the cupcake business. Interestingly, people aren’t getting tired of eating cupcakes. How can you when interesting flavors keep on getting created?
Twelve Cupcakes is one of the newest cupcakeries in the country, and here are 12 reasons why you should check them out.
1. It’s not just a small-time business; it has branches in Singapore, Jakarta, Taipei, Kuala Lumpu, and Hong Kong. In the Philippines, a branch just opened on the ground floor of SM BF in Paranaque. Other branches are in Century City Mall and SM Mall of Asia.
2. Some of their flavors are baked with fresh fruits: Apple Caramel Cinnamon, Carrot Cake, Blueberry, Raspberry White Choc, Salted Caramel Banana, Cherry Chocolate, Chocolate Banana, Sticky Date, and Cranberry Chocolate.
3. They use alcohol in some of the cupcakes! Check out flavors like Strawberry Champagne, Baileys Chocolate, Chocolate Rum & Raisin, Black Forest, and Lychee Martini.
4. They have stuffed cupcakes if you think regular cupcakes are a little too, well, regular. Check out what’s inside Nutella, Orange Chocolate, Peppermint, Mudslide, Lychee, Raspberry Chocolate, Mango, and Green Tea Azuki.
5. They have 12 everyday flavors, but they have special flavors, too. Very intriguing are Chocolate Salted Caramel, Rose, Earl Grey, and Black Sesame.
6. The cupakes from their everyday flavors are special-tasting, as well. We taste-tested all, and our favorites are Red Velvet, Vanilla Chocolate, and Chocolate Chocolate.
7. Their cupcakes are not overly sweet. And so you taste the actual flavours and not feel guilty with every bite you take.
8. The place is pretty. Lots of neutrals so it’s easy on the eyes, but with pops of pink for that oomph. Very Instagram-worthy.
9. Their pink boxes are pretty and pasalubong/gift-ready.
10. They do bulk orders. Having a baby shower or a bridal shower? Company meeting? Corporate functions? Forget the doughnuts or the pizza and pichi-pichi, and surprise them with pretty cupcakes.
11. Their cupcakes are in demand. They opened in Singapore last July 2011 and sold 3 million cupcakes in such a short span of time, and have even opened branches in other countries.
12. Why not? Everyone needs a cupcake once in a while.
