Photos: During the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight, a roller coaster of emotions from the Plaza Miranda crowd

Perhaps we should’ve taken the overcast sky at the 12th round, and an erratic cable signal as signs of the impending Pacquiao loss.

A lot of local government units in Metro Manila and across the Philippines held free live screenings of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight. Coconuts Manila contributor Tammy David went to Plaza Miranda in Quiapo, Manila to see the action.

The screening came complete with fan boy art, fan boy shirts, and the drama that can only come from an erratic cable signal toward the end of the fight. “People had to wait for [the announcement] to be flashed on the screen. And then they walked away,” David reported from the ground.

There wasn’t a lack of reaction from the full-house crowd. They went from excitement and anticipation to jubilation (especially when Manny owned the fourth round) to tension, and finally to despair.

Oh Manny. You’re still number 1.
