If it’s true that she lost control of her vehicle due to an argument with her companion, then she won’t get much sympathy from the public.
“A man was killed and 12 others were hurt when a vehicle driven by a daughter of former PBA player Nelson Asaytono plowed through shops and a waiting shed in Sta. Mesa, Manila, on Tuesday night, May 19,” reports Julliane Love De Jesus on Inquirer.net.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Kim Arielle Asaytono, 22, a resident of Kapitolyo, Pasig City. The man who died in the road mishap was identified as Oscar Lastimado.
According to Traffic investigator SPO3 Rey Fernandez, Kim will face homicide and 12 counts of reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries “after she allegedly lost control of the red Innova vehicle she was driving and plowed through shops and commuters in a waiting shed on Ramon Magsaysay and Altura streets at around 8.30pm.”
A Radyo Inquirer 990 AM report on Wed, May 20, claimed that “Kim was having an argument with her female companion when she lost control and rammed into the waiting shed.”
The report noted: “The vehicle then plowed through a horse race betting station, a barber shop, and two tricycles parked along the street.”
The rescue teams from the Red Cross took the injured victims to the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay (UERM) Medical Center, Tondo Medical Center, and Lourdes Hospital.
Police added that Kim “failed to present a driver’s license to the authorities” when she was accosted on the scene.
