Kate Torralba has been a musician far longer than she’s been a fashion designer, though it’s taken her a while to focus on being a songstress. In September last year, she launched her Long Overdue debut album in Manila, after doing well-attended capsule launches in Singapore, Bangkok, Cebu, Davao. She’s also brought the tour to Boracay and Seoul.
This Sunday afternoon at The Manila Collectible (Cabildo cor Beaterio, Intramuros, Manila; +63 917 8613011, www.manilacollectible.com), whose rooftop faces the majestic dome of The Manila Cathedral, Kate performs an intimate live session for Coconuts Manila.
She sings our favorite track from Long Overdue: “Pictures,” a peppy, light-hearted song that belies its true story: inspired by love, loss and betrayal.
