Congrats to Aiko Melendez for winning the Best Actress in a Foreign Language Film award at the International Filmmakers Festival of World Cinema in London last Feb. 28, 2015.
She won for her performance in the movie Asintado, which was a finalist in the Directors’ Showcase category of the Cinemalaya last 2014.
Aiko beat seven other nominees from other countries.
The movie got other nominations such as Best Foreign Film, Best Supporting Actor for Jake Vargas, Best Supporting Actor for Miggs Cuaderno, and Best Director for Louie Ignacio, but Aiko was the only one who won.
