A secondary school student in Penang is facing a boycott by his schoolmates and even a few of his teachers afer he Liked a pro-Israel Facebook page.
After it was discovered that the 17-year old student had Liked a Facebook page called “I Love Israel”, a teacher from his secondary school in Simpang Ampat took a screenshot of his online activity and attacked him on her own Wall.

“My student likes Israel? I am ashamed,” said the teacher in Bahasa Malaysia, as reported by The Star Online.
The posting was followed by similarly negative comments apparently by other teachers from the school, with one comment using the popular BM catchphrase, “Kita bakor je” (“Let’s just burn him”).
Several students from the school also commented on the post, with most calling for the student to be boycotted.
The 17-year old is now fearing for his life, with a family representative saying he was afraid to attend school this week.
“He didn’t get any threatening phone calls, but there are a few of his friends telling him that there are guys, who want to whack him up,” said the spokesman.
He said that the student had not actually “liked” the particular Facebook page, and suggested that it might have been “auto-liked”.
The student’s family has met with the school’s senior assistant, who promised that appropriate action would be taken.
A report had also been lodged with the district Education Department.
A family friend told The Star Online that a police report had also been lodged at the Bandar Tasek Mutiara police station.
