PM Najib: Final report on MH17 tragedy to be ready after mid-2015

The Prime Minister has announced that the final report on the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 disaster should be ready after the middle of this year.

PM Najib Razak said this while attending the 45th World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he was informed on matters pertaining to Flight MH17 by Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte.

“He (Rutte) has assured me that he would inform me first of the findings and conclusions before making the report public,” he said, as reported by Nor Baizura Basri of Bernama

“The Dutch prime minister has reiterated that the MH17 tragedy has brought our two countries closer together.”

Flight MH17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine while en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur last July 17, killing all 298 people on board. No one has claimed responsibility for the incident.

A total of 196 people on board Flight MH17 were Dutch nationals. Others on board were from Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, the UK, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, Canada and New Zealand.

The incident happened only a little more than four months after the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
