Zika virus: No travel ban to Singapore, says Health Ministry

Singapore has reported its first Zika virus case, but the Malaysian government will not be imposing any travel ban to the island nation.

For those of us who wish to travel, however, would have to be alert about the usual symptoms, like fever.

Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya told Bernama that 90,000 individuals entering Malaysia through Singapore have been screened.

“The Malaysian and Singaporean governments are always cooperative when doing screening tests on individuals who have visited Latin America countries such as Brazil, Venezuela and others, especially within the period of last week,” he said.
