Yikes: Nudists had another event at a durian orchard, police reveal

But wouldn’t that be … dangerous?

Penang police say that the group of individuals participating in the “Malaysia Nudist Sports Games” video which went viral almost two weeks ago also organised another nudist event at a durian orchard.

Penang PDRM chief Datuk Wira Abdul Rahim said that nine out of the 18 people who took part in the Nudist Sports Games event near Teluk Bahang proceeded to participate in the second event at the durian orchard.

In the viral video posted to sharing site Vimeo, participants were seen engaging in outdoor activities on the beach and having their bodies painted while in the nude. The creator of the video, who has since set it to private after intense public scrutiny, insisted that the purpose of the event was not sexual in nature, but to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Abdul Rahim told The Malay Mail Online that two of the participants seen in the video have turned themselves in.

“A 40-year-old who’s a Malaysian and a 30-year-old Singaporean had given their statements at the Southwest district police headquarters on Wednesday,” he said.

Seven of the 18 people who participated in the event were Malaysians. The other were four Singaporeans, two Myanmar nationals, and one each from the Philippines and India.

The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for gestures intended to insult the modesty of a person which carries a jail sentence of up to five years or fine or both upon conviction.

Police are still on the lookout for 11 other participants.
