yesterday’s heavy storm wrought damage to six cars and blew away the roof of a house, while trapping countless homebound KLites in massive traffic jams throughout the city.
The storm, which began at around 4pm and went on for about two hours, blew the roof off a house in Jalan Seksyen 13/2, Petaling Jaya. The roof crashed onto three vehicles parked near a car showroom.
The three vehicles, a Perodua Myvi and two Renaults, were wrecked.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Mohd Sani Harul told the New Straits Times firefighters arrived at the scene 15 minutes after the incident was reported.
“Nobody was injured and the scene has been cleared,” he said.
In another incident, strong winds in Taman Tun Dr Ismail felled a tree onto three cars at Medan Athinahappan 1. Two Proton Perdanas and a Toyota Camry were badly damaged.
The storm also caused major traffic congestion all along Klang Valley highways and roads.
