Yang di-Pertuan Agong officiates Langkawi’s first Islamic concept hotel

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, today officiated Langkawi’s first Islamic concept hotel, the Adya Hotel Langkawi.

Open to guests on January 15 last year, the Adya Hotel is a four-star, 207-room development wholly owned by Permodalan Kedah Berhad (PKB), a subsidiary of the Kedah state government. The hotel will also be managed by an offshoot of the company, PKB Management and Services Sdn Bhd.

Some of the “Islamic” features of the hotel include separate swimming pools for male and female guests and a fully-halal menu for its restaurants, cafes, and room service. The Adya is also a short distance away from Kuah’s Al-Hana Mosque for those who wish to visit Langkawi’s Islamic landmarks.

The Adya received its Islamic ceritification from the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM) last November, and has already been awarded the Guest Review Award for Excellent Service 2015 from Booking.com, Islamic Quality Standard Rating from Universal Crescent Standard Centre Malaysia, Excellent Guest Review Score 2016 from Hotels.com and Choice Hotel of four-star category 2015 from Tripadvisor.com.

You can check out the hotel’s many Islam-friendly amenities (and rates) at its official website
