Look, we’re not saying she didn’t find it, but if she did … well. It’s been a weird couple of weeks.
Courtney Love, wife of the late Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Hole, 90s style icon, and walking cautionary tale, has claimed that she’s located Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 in the open ocean near Pulau Perak, sharing images on her Twitter account of what she says are the shadow of a submerged plane and an oil slick.
Love came upon this discovery while she used DigitalGlobe’s online Tomnod platform, in which volunteers can scour satellite images of where Flight MH370 might have crashed to look for clues.
Love pointed out what she thinks are an oil slick and the submerged jetliner with handwritten notes, signed with her initials, C-L.
We’re not confident that Love’s “discovery” is going to be the one to end ongoing search and rescue operations for the missing aircraft, but if her celebrity efforts to hunker down in front of a laptop screen and search through miles upon mile of satellite maps inspires others to chip in and do the same, we’re all for it.
She still totally ruined Nirvana, though.
