A Kuala Lumpur-area woman has gone public with her story of how she stopped an individual from sending her obscene messages, and lewd images, after he approached her online.

Thirty-year-old Tiffany Ong found herself in a pickle earlier this year when a former acquaintance posted her personal details on a dating site called Skout. Realizing what had occurred, she would simply shut down would-be suitors via WhatsApp.

Initially trying to get her account deleted on the Skout site, she was advised to make a police report in the matter as well. In March of this year, when her information was still available online, one individual began to relentlessly pursue her.

Messages from the man turned to images, and eventually lewd video clips. Unsure about what to do over the untoward sexual advances, Tiffany went to police who then helped her set up a sting operation to nab the suspect.

“The police advised me to help them arrest the harasser, and I agreed to do so by asking him out to dinner,” she told a press conference, according to The Star.

They met at a mall in Cheras, and Tiffany discovered that her tormentor was a foreign man in his 20s.

Police arrested the man, and he has since been sentenced to eight months in jail.

And if you’re wondering what happened to the person who posted her deets in the first place, a police report has been made against them said the head of MCA Public Services and Complains Department, Michael Chong. It’s in the hands of the authorities, he concluded.

So, there you have it! An inundation of unsolicited dick pics will probably land you in jail, and petty revenge dating profiles might too.
