Woman ‘punishes’ husband for marrying second wife by stealing RM80k

It was just like a scene from the movie ‘Ocean’s Eleven’, except for the part that it failed miserably.

Upset that her husband is marrying a second wife, a woman decided to get revenge by stealing RM80,000 from him.

Unfortunately for the 47-year-old woman, the police didn’t buy her ‘robbery’ story, and she was arrested instead.

On Monday, the woman lodged a police report claiming she was robbed at home in Jempol. In the report, according to The News Straits Times, the woman said she was at home with her two children when two men broke into their house, tie her and her kids up and fled with RM80,000 cash belonging to her husband.

Her Pakistani husband was away when the ‘robbery’ took place.

Jempol district police chief Superintendent Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the woman’s statement raised some red flags, and the police had some doubts.

“After questioning her, she later confessed that it was a ruse to steal her husband’s money,” said Noorzainy.

“She said that she felt neglected as her husband as two wives. She had packed the money and was going to send it to her hometown in Sabah.”

Noorzainy added that the suspect was charged with robbery.
