Woman nearly impaled by flying iron rod through windscreen on NKVE

Driving along the NKVE motorway in Kuala Lumpur last week, a woman was lucky to escape with her life after a three-foot iron road pierced through her windscreen, and nearly impaled her on her forehead.

While the woman has no idea where the rod came from, she wondered to Sin Chew Daily whether it could have come loose from a truck that had been traveling in front of her on the expressway.

Yang, as she is referred to in the paper, reported that while the injury left her dizzy, she was not incapacitated. She pulled over, presumably snapped a photo of the rod, and drove herself to the hospital. When there, doctors informed her that she had in fact fractured part of her skull, and would need surgery to remove any remaining debris.

Her condition is being reported as stable, and she is recovering.

We’re happy to hear, and note to selves + readers: Forever be careful when you are behind the wheel. You never know what could come at you.
