Woman narrowly escapes death in freak accident

A woman in Kota Kinabalu had her lucky stars to thank after she narrowly escaped death in a freak accident on Friday.

According to The Star Online, the 33-year-old woman was heading to Teachers Education Institute in Tawau for work at 6am when she reportedly lost control of her Perodua Kelisa.

The car then reportedly skidded and crashed into a metal road barrier. The metal piece subsequently impaled the vehicle, missing her by inches.

Tawau police chief Asst Comm Fadil Marsus told the news portal that the vehicle was totally wrecked after the accident, adding that the woman, who sustained injuries to her head and tongue, was treated at the Tawau Hospital.

“She is reported to be in stable condition,” ACP Fadil was quoted as saying.
