Woman loses RM200,000 when burglars stole her safe box

A group of burglars stole a woman’s safe box from her home in Bandar Sunway on Saturday, The Star Online reports.

Subang Jaya deputy OCPD Supt Lee Swee Meng told the news portal that at the time of the incident, the woman was out with her family in Sekinchan.

Her husband, a businessman, was reportedly overseas for work.

According to Supt Lee, the woman left her house at around 8.10am and came home to find her front door wide open at 4.40pm.

The woman reportedly found the master bedroom ransacked and a safe box kept in the cupboard was missing.

Supt Lee told The Star that the victim reported valuables worth a total of RM204,400 –  including RM16,000 in foreign currencies, two gold bars worth RM15,000 each, four luxury watches and RM50,000 worth of jewellery – missing.
