A woman had lodged a police report against a paedophile who had allegedly been sending sexual messages to her ten-year-old son.
Nilai police chief Supt Zaldino Zaludin told Bernama that the woman was at her home in Jalan Putra Nilai at 6.30pm on Monday when her son told her that a man he had befriended on Facebook was sending him “sexual” messages.
“According to the 29-year-old complainant, the conversations between the suspect and her son had been normal until three days ago when the former started sending the sexual messages.
“After calling but failing to get any response from the man through Facebook messenger, she posted a warning not to disturb her son again. Instead, he blocked the complainant and her husband’s Facebook accounts,” Supt Zaldino said in a statement as cited by the news agency.
Supt Zaldino added that the boy and the suspect reportedly got to know each other via Facebook messenger in February.
“The suspect had also invited the victim to meet him on the pretext of presenting him with a PlayStation Portable to keep him from boredom at home.
“I was informed by the complainant that the suspect’s Facebook account, allegedly under the name of ‘Aiman Fauzi’ had already been closed,” he was quoted as saying, adding that the case was being investigated under Section 509 and 292 of the Penal Code.
