A 21-year old woman was found dead at Kota Kinabalu’s Centre Point shopping mall last night, about two hours after she had posted a suicide note on Facebook.
Hasrina Chee was believed to have fallen or jumped off the building’s sixth-floor car park at midnight. She had posted the suicide note on Facebook at 9.42pm last night.
The Star reports that Chee’s last Facebook message included her saying goodbye to her friends and apologizing to her family.
The post has since been deleted from Facebook.
Kota Kinabalu city police chief Asst Comm Jauteh Dikun said his department was investigating the case as sudden death, and have not ruled out suicide. He declined to comment on Chee’s Facebook post, as it was part of the ongoing investigation.
It is believed Chee’s former boyfriend had lodged a police report against her after she had threatened to kill herself when he rejected her request to patch things up.
