Woman falls to death from 15th floor in bid to escape raid

A 32-year-old woman plunged from the 15th floor of the Sun Complex in Bukit Bintang in a desperate bid to escape a raid.

According to The Star Online, the woman said to be from the Philippines, was trying to escape a multi-agency raid codenamed “’Op Khas Sun Complex’, when she slipped and fell five floors to the 10th storey of the building at 2.30am Monday.

“She died on the spot from internal injuries, and her body was sent to the KL Hospital for a post-mortem,” city police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh was quoted as saying. 

Police arrested 154 foreingers, including 32 women, for offences such as failure to produce valid travel documents and misusing social visit passes, the news site reported.

Five hundred personnel from various government agencies were part of the operation, which was put in place following complaints from the public.

“More raids will be carried out in the city centre,” Amar was quoted further.
