A woman and her daughter, who were cleaning their house porch in Taman Iskandar in Johor, had a rude shock when two armed men rushed in through the open front gate and robbed them on Thursday.
According to a report by The Star Online, the robbers, armed with a parang and an iron rod, ordered the 42-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter into the house before tying them up in the 4.30pm incident.
The men then reportedly ransacked the house and took their mobile phones, a laptop and house keys before driving off in the woman’s Audi A6.
The woman and her daughter later managed to loosen the ropes and went to their neighbour for help.
Johor Baru (South) OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh told the news portal that the robbers, with the help of two other men, had earlier driven around the area before they targeted the corner lot house.
“There are thick bushes and trees around the house, making it difficult for their neighbours to see what was happening,” he was quoted as saying.
