A fight between lovers reportedly led to the brutal murder of a woman in Taman Jinjang, here yesterday.
She was allegedly beaten to death with a mop during a fight with her lover who attempted suicide following the incident, Bernama reports.
The suspect who worked as a technician, reportedly admitted to committing the crime out of jealousy.
“The suspect admitted having beaten his partner out of jealousy. He suspected the woman of having an affair with another man. The couple was said to have been arguing since last Thursday because she refused to go home and take care of their four-year-old daughter,” Sentul district police chief ACP R. Munusamy was quoted as saying.
The couple was not married, he added, but had been living together for five years. The victim reportedly worked as a promoter at a pub.
According to the report, the suspect had sent his daughter to the victim’s father’s house at 9pm on Friday.
Police arrested the man at 6.35am yesterday. He will be in remand until Thursday.
