Wildlife rangers rescue poor doggie with a plastic container stuck to its head

The poor dog had his head stuck in a plastic container for days, but no one tried to help it.

On Monday, a group of Wildlife Rescue Unit rangers finally came to the doggie’s aid after a senior Sabah Wildlife Department officer alerted the Unit about its plight.

According to The Star Online, the stray dog — nicknamed Plasty — had its head trapped in a plastic container while foraging for food at Taman Inanam Laut in Kota Kinabalu.

A team of Wildlife rangers, led by veterinarian Dr Nabila Sarkawi, reportedly tranquillised Plasty and removed the container from its head.

“The dog was severely dehydrated and probably had no food or water for days.

“It would not have survived another 36 hours with the container stuck to its head,” Dr Nabila was quoted as saying.

The team then treated the animal before sending it to the SPCA Kota Kinabalu for further medical treatment, the news portal reported.

“Plasty’s condition has stabilised,” Dr Nabila was further quoted as saying, adding that Plasty should make a speedy recovery at the shelter.

Several photos of Plasty have since gone viral on Facebook, with Netizens praising Dr Nabila and the Wildlife Rescue Unit for saving the dog:
