Teachers and students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Beserah in Kuantan got a surprise visit early Wednesday morning from a wild boar, who managed to get its head stuck in between the gates.
According to a news report by the News Straits Times, the wild boar was spotted by a school security guard at 6.30am and he immediately alerted the Pahang Civil Defence Department.
Four Civil Defence personnel reached the school 25 minutes later and spent close to two hours trying to free the wild boar, but the poor animal died during the process. The wild boar’s remains have been sent to the Wildlife and National Parks Department.
A teacher told the daily that this incident is first of its kind at the school.
