Well duh: Dumb robbers fail to prepare for ATM security measures, like alarms and cameras

Two would-be robbers attempted to break into an automated teller machine (ATM) in Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickfields this morning, only to be foiled by securooity measures commonly in place at all such ATM locations – like an alarm, and security cameras.

At 4.20am, the two suspects, both in their 30s, entered the premises and tried to pry open one of the ATM machines with a hammer, The Star Online reports.

“The alarm went off when one of them hit the machine with the tool.

“They fled immediately,” a police spokesman said when met at the scene.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the premises also revealed that the two suspects didn’t even bother to cover their faces while perpetrating the break-in.

Police are still trying to determine the identities of the suspects.
