Weak quake hits Ranau, part of school ceiling collapses

A mild 3.5-magnitude earthquake shook Ranau this morning, causing a part of the ceiling of a school there to collapse.

Bernama reports that the ceiling in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Mohamad Ali’s library crumbled at 10.55am. No one was injured.

School authorities have closed the library temporarily due to the damages.

According to the Meteorological Department, the quake, classified as weak, hit Ranau at 10.54am, one of the many aftershocks that have hit the town since the June 5 earthquake that killed 18 people.
