A mild quake measuring 2.7 of the Richter scale was recorded at Tasik Kenyir in Terengganu last night.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department said in a statement that the tremors could be felt in Kuala Berang, located about 40 kilometres away.
However, the department issued no tsunami threat following the 9.25pm quake.
At 260,000 hectares, the lake is the largest man-made lake in Southeast Asia.
