Water disruptions in the Petaling district should be completely fixed by Wednesday, The Star Online reports.
Speaking to the daily, Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager Priscilla Alfred said the delay in restoring water supply to the Petaling district — Puchong, Subang Jaya, Serdang and UPM — was due to its size.
“We estimate that water will be restored in most areas by the end of Tuesday or Wednesday morning,” The Star Online quoted her as saying.
Restoration would also depend on how much water was being used in the area: “If people use a lot of water, the recovery takes longer,” she said.
Water supply in Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang districts is expected to be fully restored by the end of today, she said.
Syabas yesterday announced unscheduled water disruptions in 39 areas within the four districts after as ammonia and manganese levels in Sungai Selangor recorded higher than normal levels.
