Save the drama for your mama, Grace Lam Nga-Si. The Hong Kong “celebrity” faked her own snatch theft while filming a Facebook livestream video on Bentong Walk, yesterday. Facebook users were not happy, and her account was swiftly deactivated when the truth over the “robbery” emerged.
Awww… Isn’t that cute? Z-list celebrity cries for attention by preying on the stereotype that everyone in Malaysia gets mugged. We’re happy that our nation had a part to play in your social media stunt gone wrong. Anything else we can do? Nothing says “pay attention to me” like a bad haircut, and ill-thought tattoo. We can probably help with that.
The 3-minute long video ended with Grace’s bag being suddenly grabbed from her. It concluded with the wannabe starlet claiming that “Thankfully my manager and local friends managed to help me catch the thief and I recovered my belongings.”
Grace later released a statement thanking her followers for caring, and apologizing for the “misunderstanding” in Malaysia. As it were, it was all staged.
Turns out saying sorry about the inconvenience isn’t enough to settle the ire of Malaysia’s police: they are opening an investigation into her false claims and defamation.
Please, Malaysia, can we serve her sub-standard nasi lemak during her stay? The kind with the sambal that gives you acid reflux for the rest of the day, and into the night. Tk.
