UMNO’s women’s wing has set up a special fund to assist the disabled teenager found malnourished and skeletal in a Nilai flat.
Wanita UMNO Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said the fund, the Adik Firdaus Fund, was proactive measure by her movement to help 15-year old Muhammad Firdaus Dullah.
“Wanita Umno kicks off the fund with RM2,000. Welfare Association of Wives of Senior Government Servants and Elected Representatives of Negeri Sembilan (Pekerti) president Datin Seri Raja Salbiah Tengku Nujumudin also gave the same amount,” she said after visiting Firdaus at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban yesterday.
With her were Raja Salbiah, the wife of Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Utama Mohamad Hassan, and Negeri Sembilan Wanita UMNO chief Datuk Norhayati Omar.
Shahrizat said the fund would be jointly managed by the hospital, the State Welfare Services Department (JKM) and the Negeri Sembilan Wanita UMNO chapter.
