A pet owner is buying his two dogs extra treats today, after the pair successfully chased away a group of five parang-carrying (machete) robbers over the weekend.
The men, who rolled up in front of the Bukit Bayu Tinggi home around 10:30pm, exited an MPV wearing masks. The home-owner had been in front of the home, in his car, when the incident occurred. Luckily, he had enough time to run and let the dogs out via the front gate. Upon seeing the angry pets, the robbers made a U-turn and headed back to their vehicle and got out of there ASAP.
Footage from the incident was posted by the victim’s friend to the Facebook group We Are Malaysians, and quickly went viral.
Police have since arrested a 30-year-old man with 27 prior criminal convictions from Taman Sentosa in connection with the attempted robbery.
He later tested positive for meth. Natch.
