[VIDEO] Chrysanthemum tea big hit with Alor Star’s bee population at Ramadan bazaar

Un-bee-lievable tea! (sorry for the pun)
Un-bee-lievable tea! (sorry for the pun)

Like a moth to a flame, like … well, bees to honey. A chrysanthemum tea seller at an Alor Star Ramadan bazaar has managed to make a tea so sweet and flowery, that its stall is literally swarmed by bees.

No one can resist the sweet, sweet goodness of a good teh bunga kekwa. Especially not nature’s pollinators, the humble bee.

Ridzuan Rahman shared a video from the Darul Aman Stadium market stall, and it’s been shared nearly 20,000 times.

Some are asking if they’re a marketing ploy, ferried in by the stall operators as a testament to just how good the flowery nectar is.

The insects are attracted to scents and colors that mimic the attributes of the flowers they have evolved to pollinate. It could just be that the brew is so heady that it’s got the bees fooled.

Tea goes viral on social media via bees. There you have it. Move over Instagram stars. Bees: Malaysia’s most effective KOLs.
