There’s nothing like a hot-button upcoming rally to bring out the weirdness. Like these guys right here — a group of anti-Bersih demonstrators — who have decided to take part in a ‘protest against a protest’ by rallying against Bersih 4.0 this weekend.
Some 30,000 of them in red shirts bearing the slogan “Bersih 4 Keamanan” would walk the streets.
But before that, the theatrics; 160 of them showed how prepared they were to face any kind of violent confrontation by hitting each other with wooden poles and smashing limestone bricks in front of the Sogo shopping mall yesterday.
Free Malaysia Today reports that some of the participants even smashed limestone bricks against their head (shivers) and roared like tigers.
Here, see it for yourselves:
It quotes Coalition leader Jamal Md Yunos: “We will gather at Low Yat Plaza at 9am this Saturday and walk towards Dataran Merdeka. All of our participants have been informed of the possibility of assaults and they volunteered to participate because we just want peace in our country.”
He also said that the demonstration in front of Sogo was to show that these ‘activists’ were “not afraid of anything that might come our way during the Bersih 4 rally.”
