And this time Nora Danish absolutely has nothing to do with it. (These guys held up a picture of Jaafar Onn, instead.)
A group calling itself Anak Malaysia Anti Demokrasi (AMAD, or Sons of Malaysia Against Democracy) has released a YouTube video in which a trio of black mask-clad men decry the country’s “failed democracy”.
The 1 minute, 27 second video released by the Anonymous Malaysia account, has the three men seated at a desk in front of a Malaysian flag, with toy guns propped up on the left of the screen, two toy cars on the right. The speaker, seated in the middle, has his face obscured by an AMAD logo, and his voice is heavily altered. He was also holding up a piece of paper imprinted with the potrait of funnyman Jaafar Onn.
Asking if Malaysians could change the chairperson of the Election Commission, the Chief Justice, or the Inspector-General of Police through democratic means, the AMAD representatives declared the answer to be “no”. They also labelled the three high-ranking officials as “agents out to destroy democracy”.
The masked men proceeded to threaten the life of Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar, vowing to detonate the IGP’s car as a measure to instil fear in the hearts of all government agency heads, and to dissuade them from subverting Malaysian democracy.
The man on the right of the screen then rolled out the two toy cars to the centre of the table, where one was lit on fire … to canned movie explosion sound effects.
The video holds more than a few similarities to an earlier video released by isis malaysia 69 on YouTube, in which a threat to attack courthouses in Malaysia with firecrackers was made by a group of masked men. The two videos also end the same way, with the men on screen crying “F-U-C-K, fuck democracy!” as a sign-off.
