A man was stabbed last Friday after allegedly jumping the queue while waiting for his palm oil to be weighed in Kampung Ulu Sapi, Sabah.

Berita Harian reports that the 11am incident resulted in the death of 30-year-old Baso Padue Paddo, a lorry driver, who sustained fatal knife wounds to his back, chest, and left torso. In custody is a 26-year-old palm oil plantation worker.

Police believe that the disagreement between the men occurred the day prior and other workers had to pull the men away from each other. The point of contention is believed to be related to Baso having cut in line.

The following day, witnesses report that the suspect stalked the victim before delivering the fatal blows. Baso was rushed to a nearby health clinic, but succumbed to his injuries.

The unnamed suspect was arrested a few hours later at a nearby palm oil plantation.

The victim’s wife reported that her husband set off for work as per usual that morning, having played with their son before leaving for the day. She added that he had not spoken of his run-in with the suspect the day before.

The case is being investigated as murder.
