Van ferrying Form Five students suddenly bursts into flames

What was supposed to be a fun roadtrip for a group of Form Five students turned into a harrowing experience when the van they were traveling in suddenly caught fire in the middle of the Karak Highway.

According to a report by The New Straits Times, the four students from Sekolah Menengah Agama Tengku Ampuan Fatimah, Pekan were travelling to Kuala Lumpur for an Arabic language festival held at University Malaya about 5pm when they noticed thick black smoke coming from one of the vehicle’s wheels.

The driver, 33-year-old Nor Hisyam Zulkifli, immediately stopped the vehicle and ordered the students to get out of the van.

However, Nor Hisyam forgot to pull the handbrake, and the unmanned vehicle rolled down the highway before slamming into a nearby divider and caught fire.

Thankfully, no one was hurt, although the van was completely destroyed.
