Used car dealer in Cheras shot by four masked men

The manager of a used car dealerhip in Taman Midah, Cheras was wounded after being shot by four masked men yesterday afternoon. 

At 4.42pm, police say the four men, disguised behind ski masks, exited a Nissan Sylphy and entered the dealership. 

Cheras acting police district police chief ACP Abdul Rahim Hamzah Othman told Bernama that three of the suspects then went up to the first floor of the dealership and rushed into the office of the 34-year old manager. 

“A tussle ensued when the manager tried to prevent the suspects from entering his office. When the manager was overpowered, one of the suspects fired two shots, hitting his left cheek,” he said. 

After the shooting, the suspects fled with a file from the manager’s desk. 

The victim was take to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition. 

Abdul Rahim said police investigations at the scene found two rounds of ammunition and two pistols, one of which was fake. 

Police are now looking into the motive for the incident and going through the dealership’s CCTV footage for clues.

The case is being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Firearms Act 1960 and Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment upon conviction.
