A woman from Sibu, Sabah lodged a police report on Saturday after she could no longer stand her husband’s sexual demands, according to The Star Online.
In her report, the 29-year-old woman claimed that her 31-year-old husband is abusive and sex-crazed as he would demand for sex at irregular hours, even when she’s menstruating.
If she rejects his advances, her husband would allegedly hit her.
“The last straw was at 7.30am on Saturday when he asked to have sex. Although I told him that I was having my period, he forced me to it.
“Previously, he tried to strangle me and slapped me until I complied,” the woman was quoted by the news portal as saying during a press conference.
The woman added that she decided to lodge a police report as she feared for her children’s safety.
The couple has reportedly been married for ten years and have three children together.
“He does not respect me as a wife, although he gives me RM1,000 a month for the family’s expenses,” she was further quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Saiful Bahari Abdullah told The Star Online that the police contacted the man after receiving the police report.
ACP Saidul added that action would be taken against the man if there were any criminal elements involved.
“As she has filed a police report to seek a divorce, we have advised her to refer the matter to the court or to get help from the relevant bodies,” ACP Saiful was quoted as saying.
