Seriously, do firemen really know how to do everything?
A group of firemen from the Nilai Fire and Rescue Department turned into a group of veterinarians as they rescued a cat that was having birth-related complications.
According to a report by The New Straits Times, a distressed 48-year-old woman brought the cat to the fire station and asked the firemen for help at around 11.30pm after she failed to find veterinary clinics that were still open at the time of the incident.
Station operating officer Mohd Syazwan Saidy told the daily that the cat was suffering from a failed delivery and was in a poor state when its owner brought it to the station.
“The foetus was believed to have perished for several hours but remained stuck in the tract during the birth process.
“The Emergency Response Medical Services (ERMS) team was assigned to assist and took about 15 minutes to remove the foetus,” Mohd Syazman was quoted by the daily as saying.
Thankfully, the firemen managed to save the kitty’s life and it was said to be in a stable condition after the procedure.
