Retribution doesn’t come free, and the four men who were arrested in relation to an Uber driver’s molestation of a Vietnamese national in Penang, have found this out the hard way. They have all been charged with assault, after taking revenge on the driver.

Those named in the charge are Teoh Chiew Beng, 37, Ng Chun Peng, 32, Koay Hean Tatt, 32, and Wong Kok Leong, 27. The charge of intentionally causing harm to drive Mohd Sukri Ramli was read to them in Mandarin before Magistrate Catherine Nicholas. The assault was recorded by shocked passers-by.

The driver himself has also been charged with sexual assault on the woman passenger. He has plead not guilty. His bail was initially set at RM10,000 but lowered to RM6,000 after the defendant argued that he was currently in debt, and had to be available to work to support his wife and child. Yeesh.

All of those charged face prison time, should they be found guilty.

Crime doesn’t pay. Vigilantism will get you prosecuted, so remember kids, let the police deal with this, and remember that someone, somewhere is always recording something with their phone cam.
