Two teachers in Besut have reportedly been arrested over a schoolboy’s claim that he was hit with a hockey stick last week.
The New Straits Times reported that the teachers, one of whom is an ustaz, were arrested after the boy’s mother — also a teacher — lodged a report at the Kampung Raja on the day of the alleged incident.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi, quoted in the report said the boy also alleged that both teachers slapped and strangled him, causing injuries to his face and bruises to his face and body.
He told the NST that both teachers had summoned the 11-year-old to another class where he was assaulted last Sunday.
“The boy was sent to the Besut Hospital for treatment after his mother was informed about the incident,” Supt Mohd Zamri was quoted as saying.
Both teachers have reportedly been released after having their statements recorded.
