Two suspected thieves crash getaway car, stolen cow drowns

An innocent cow lost its life after two idiotic suspected robbers crashed their getaway car into an irrigation canal in Padang Chempedak, Penang.

According to The New Straits Times, the incident happened at around 5am on Monday when the two men, who had allegedly stolen the adult cow, were trying to escape the police.

Seberang Prai Utara district police chief Assistant Commissioner Azmi Adam told the daily that the suspects, after realising they were being tailed by the police, swerved into the road parallel to the irrigation canal.

As they were trying to escape, they lost control of the car and crashed into the canal.

ACP Azmi said the police managed to nab one of the suspected thieves, while the other managed to escape.

The cow, which was reportedly stuffed in the backseat, drowned in the canal (RIP, you beautiful animal).

ACP Azmi told the NST that the cow was believed to have been stolen elsewhere and the suspects were transporting it to another location when the police spotted them.
