Following Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution being refused entry into Sarawak earlier today, two more PKR leaders have been likewise turned away at Kuching International Airport.
PKR vice president Tian Chua and the party’s strategic director Rafizi Ramli were both barred from entering the state at noon today.
PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said the two were stopped at the airport and were put on the first flight back to KL.
Rafizi and Tian Chua, along with Saifuddin, were on their way to assist in Pakatan Rakyat’s campaign in the run up to the March 29 Balingian by-election.
The Balingian state seat was vacated after Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud resigned from all his posts on February 28, after 33 years of service. He was replaced as Chief Minister by Tan Sri Adenan Satem. The Balingian by-election, slated to take place on March 29, will be contested by Yussibnosh Balo of Barisan Nasional and Abdul Jalil Bujang of Pakatan Rakyat.
