Two men narrowly escape burning vehicles

Two men narrowly escaped with their lives when a lorry collided with a car before bursting into flames on the North-South Highway on Monday night.

According to The New Straits Times, the accident happened at Kilometre 264 of the North-South highway at 10.45pm.

Seremban 2 Fire and Rescue chief operation officer Mohd Suhaimi Baharom told the daily that the lorry driver, who is in his 50s, reportedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the back of the car.

Mohd Suhaimi said they received an emergency call at 10.46pm, and six firemen were dispatched to the scene of the accident.

“When we arrived, the lorry’s front and the car’s rear were already destroyed in the fire. We took about 15 minutes to control the blaze,” he was quoted as saying, adding that both drivers managed to escape from the accident almost unscathed.

The drivers were reportedly sent to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital for treatment.
