Two men died in an accident just minutes after robbing a businessman in Johor Bahru last night.
Both suspects had tried to flee in a Toyota Vios after robbing the 33-year-old victim at 11.30pm, when they realised they were being followed.
In their haste to escape, their car skidded and crashed into an oncoming four-wheel-drive with two Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) employees, Bernama reports.
“Unable to control the car, the suspects’car crashed into a four-wheel-drive vehicle with two Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) employees coming from the opposite direction,” Johor Baharu Selatan District Police Chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh told Bernama.
“Following the collision, the two suspects died at the scene due to serious injuries while the TNB employees were injured in the head and leg,” he was quoted further.
Both men, aged 28 and 34, had earlier confronted the businessman — who was out to buy food — with a parang and snatched his backpack before escaping towards Taman Pelangi.
