Two-hour downpour wreaks havoc in the Klang Valley

When it rains, it pours.

A two-hour downpour which started around 5.30pm on Wednesday evening wreaked havoc around the city.

According to The New Straits Times, a parking garage of an apartment at Jalan Lengkuk Abdullah collapsed as a result of the heavy rain, damaging four cars in the process.

City Fire and Rescue Department chief operations officer Samsol Maarif Saibani told the daily that they received an emergency call at 5.42pm and a team was dispatched to the scene.

“The garage collapsed on four cars parked there.

“Nobody was injured in the incident,” he was quoted as saying.

Samsol told the daily that the department also received several calls about trees getting uprooted following the crazy downpour, including one that fell on a house at Jalan Desa Seputih.

At least seven cars were reportedly damaged by uprooted trees at several locations in the city including near Bank Negara and Jalan Kampung Attap, according to Samsol.
